# Financial Services Marketing Agency: Attract High-Net-Worth Clients & Grow AUM Nationwide

**Ambrose Marketing** helps financial advisors, planners, and wealth management firms present their expertise with the clarity and polish their clients expect. We build brands, websites, content, and referral programs that support long relationships with the right households.

Our work is designed to sit comfortably inside your compliance process, written with the SEC Marketing Rule and FINRA communications standards in mind and ready for your compliance team’s review.

## What our clients are saying…

## Why CPA’s, Financial Advisors, & Wealth Managers Choose Ambrose Marketing in 2026?

Financial advice is a relationship business, and relationships still start with recommendations. In the FINRA Investor Education Foundation’s national survey, 69% of investors said they use recommendations from financial professionals who advise them personally, and 65% rely on friends, family, and colleagues. Among investors under 35, word of mouth is the leading source at 85%.

That makes your online presence the place where referrals are confirmed or lost. A prospect who hears your name will look you up, read your biography, study your process, and decide whether you seem like the right fit before ever calling.

The profession is mature and competitive. The Bureau of Labor Statistics counts 299,400 personal financial advisors and projects slow growth for the occupation, so standing out matters more than ever. Clarity about who you serve and how you work is the edge.

Every piece of financial marketing also has to satisfy regulators. The SEC Marketing Rule governs testimonials, ratings, and performance, and FINRA requires principal approval and bans promissory claims for broker-dealer communications. We write with those requirements from the first draft.

We are a woman-owned team based in Naples, Florida, with an office in Manhattan, and we work with advisory firms in both markets and across the country.

How investors choose an advisor
## What Shapes a Prospect’s Decision

These figures from the BLS, the FINRA Investor Education Foundation, and the Census Bureau, along with regulatory guidance, frame how we approach advisor marketing.

### Personal recommendations dominate

In 2024, 69% of investors used recommendations from financial professionals who advise them personally, up from 66% in 2021, and 65% used friends, family, and colleagues ([FINRA Foundation](https://www.finrafoundation.org/sites/finrafoundation/files/2025-11/NFCS_Investor_Survey_Report_White_Paper.pdf)).

### Younger investors behave differently

Among investors under 35, word of mouth is the top source of investment information at 85%, and 26% of all investors use recommendations from social media influencers ([FINRA Foundation](https://www.finrafoundation.org/sites/finrafoundation/files/2025-11/NFCS_Investor_Survey_Report_White_Paper.pdf)). Your firm’s own content has to compete in those channels.

### A mature, competitive field

BLS counted 299,400 personal financial advisor jobs in 2025, with a median salary of $105,070, and projects just 1% growth through 2035 ([BLS](https://www.bls.gov/ooh/business-and-financial/personal-financial-advisors.htm)). Growth comes from differentiation, not market expansion, so a clearly defined client and a recognizable brand matter more every year.

### Naples is a wealth market

The City of Naples has a median household income of $153,182, and 55.8% of residents are 65 or older ([U.S. Census Bureau](https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/colliercountyflorida,naplescityflorida/PST045224)). Retirement income, estate, and relocation planning content speaks directly to this audience.

## Advisory Models Market Differently

An independent RIA, a wealth management team, and a broker-dealer representative work under different rules and attract clients in different ways.

- **Independent RIAs**Fiduciary positioning and transparent fees are natural strengths. Explain your fee model, process, and minimums plainly, and make the SEC Marketing Rule part of every content review.
- **Wealth management teams**High-net-worth families value discretion and depth. Thought leadership, team biographies, and a service model description matter more than broad advertising, especially when prospects compare several firms through their CPA or attorney.
- **Broker-dealer affiliated advisors**FINRA Rule 2210 governs retail communications, including principal approval before use, so content workflows need to fit your broker-dealer’s review process.
- **Financial planners and fee-only planners**Planning clients want to understand the process and what they will receive. Sample planning timelines, a description of deliverables, and clear pricing for one-time plans or ongoing retainers reduce hesitation.
- **Family offices**Marketing is quiet and relationship-driven. A discreet website, carefully written team biographies, and materials that explain governance, reporting, and coordination with outside advisors matter more than visibility campaigns.
- **Specialized niches**Advisors who serve physicians, business owners, or specific professions win with content that speaks directly to those clients’ decisions and timelines.

### Referral and center-of-influence programs

Simple materials and updates for CPAs, attorneys, and other professionals who refer clients, designed with your compliance team when compensation or endorsements are involved, so introductions stay simple and appropriately disclosed.

Marketing your compliance team can approve
## The SEC and FINRA Rules We Write Around

Investment marketing is one of the most regulated forms of advertising. These are the requirements we keep in view when we draft for advisory firms. Your compliance team always has final review. This is general information, not legal advice.

### The SEC Marketing Rule applies

Rule 206(4)-1 governs investment adviser advertisements and has required compliance since November 4, 2022 ([SEC](https://www.sec.gov/resources-small-businesses/small-business-compliance-guides/investment-adviser-marketing)). It contains seven general prohibitions, including untrue statements, unsubstantiated material facts, and discussing benefits without fair and balanced treatment of material risks.

### Testimonials and endorsements need disclosures

Advertisements with testimonials or endorsements must clearly and prominently disclose whether the person is a client and whether they are compensated, and paid promoters generally require oversight and a written agreement ([SEC](https://www.sec.gov/resources-small-businesses/small-business-compliance-guides/investment-adviser-marketing)).

### Third-party ratings have conditions

An adviser using a rating must have a reasonable basis to believe the survey made favorable and unfavorable responses equally easy, and must disclose the rating’s date, period covered, the third party, and any compensation ([17 CFR 275.206(4)-1](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-17/section-275.206(4)-1)).

### Performance must be fair and complete

Gross performance must be shown with net performance of at least equal prominence, and portfolio results generally require one-, five-, and ten-year periods ([17 CFR 275.206(4)-1](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-17/section-275.206(4)-1)). SEC staff guidance continues to evolve, including a January 2026 update on model fees ([SEC](https://www.sec.gov/rules-regulations/staff-guidance/division-investment-management-frequently-asked-questions/marketing-compliance-frequently-asked-questions)).

### No implied SEC approval, careful hypotheticals

Advertisements may not imply that the SEC has approved the adviser or its results, and extracted, hypothetical, and predecessor performance each come with specific conditions ([SEC](https://www.sec.gov/resources-small-businesses/small-business-compliance-guides/investment-adviser-marketing)). We avoid these formats unless your compliance team has a plan for them.

### FINRA rules for broker-dealer communications

A qualified registered principal must approve each retail communication before use or filing, and no communication may contain false, exaggerated, unwarranted, promissory, or misleading claims or predict performance ([FINRA Rule 2210](https://www.finra.org/rules-guidance/rulebooks/finra-rules/2210)).

### Examiners are watching

The SEC Division of Examinations has issued several risk alerts on Marketing Rule compliance, most recently in December 2025, covering testimonials, endorsements, and third-party ratings ([SEC](https://www.sec.gov/compliance/risk-alerts)).

Questions advisors ask
## Financial Advisor Marketing Questions, Answered

Can financial advisors use client testimonials now?

Yes, under the SEC Marketing Rule, with conditions. Advertisements must clearly and prominently disclose whether the person is a client and whether they were compensated, and advisers must oversee compliance and generally have written agreements with paid promoters ([SEC](https://www.sec.gov/resources-small-businesses/small-business-compliance-guides/investment-adviser-marketing)). Broker-dealer communications are also subject to FINRA rules.

Can we share investment performance on our website?

Only carefully. Gross performance must be accompanied by net performance with at least equal prominence, and portfolio results generally need one-, five-, and ten-year periods ending no earlier than the most recent calendar year-end ([17 CFR 275.206(4)-1](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-17/section-275.206(4)-1)). Many firms choose to focus marketing on process and service instead.

Can we promote awards or rankings?

Yes, if the conditions for third-party ratings are met, including a reasonable basis to believe the survey made favorable and unfavorable responses equally easy, and disclosure of the rating date, the period covered, who issued it, and any compensation paid ([17 CFR 275.206(4)-1](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-17/section-275.206(4)-1)).

Do social media posts count as advertising?

They can. For broker-dealers, FINRA Rule 2210 applies to communications with the public, including approval requirements for retail communications ([FINRA](https://www.finra.org/rules-guidance/rulebooks/finra-rules/2210)). For advisers, content that offers advisory services may be an advertisement under the Marketing Rule. We build a review step into every content calendar.

How do most clients find financial advisors?

Mostly through people they trust. In the FINRA Foundation’s 2024 survey, 69% of investors used recommendations from financial professionals who advise them and 65% used friends, family, and colleagues ([FINRA Foundation](https://www.finrafoundation.org/sites/finrafoundation/files/2025-11/NFCS_Investor_Survey_Report_White_Paper.pdf)). A strong website and profiles confirm those recommendations.

Should each advisor have a Google Business Profile?

Often, yes. Google lists financial planners among individual practitioners who can have their own profiles when public-facing and reachable at the verified location. With several practitioners at one location, the firm has its own profile and each advisor’s profile uses only the advisor’s name ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177)).

What should an advisor’s website include?

At minimum: who you serve, the services you provide, how you are paid, your process from first meeting onward, biographies with credentials and experience, required regulatory disclosures, and a simple way to request a conversation. Prospects referred by a friend or CPA mostly want to confirm that you are credible and a good fit, so clarity beats volume.

How often should we publish articles or commentary?

Consistency matters more than frequency. One thoughtful, well-reviewed piece a month, tied to what your clients are thinking about at that time of year, usually does more than weekly posts that strain your compliance review. We plan topics a quarter ahead so approvals never become a bottleneck.

Will you work with our compliance department?

Always. We draft with the applicable rules in mind, flag anything that may need disclosures, and route every piece through your firm’s review before it is published. Your compliance team has the final word.

Do you work with firms outside Florida?

Yes. We work from Naples and Manhattan with advisory firms nationwide. Federal rules apply everywhere, and we also account for any state securities regulator requirements that apply to your firm.
