# Construction Marketing Agency: Attract More High-Value Projects & Grow Your Firm Nationwide

#### *Marketing for general contractors, home builders, remodeling companies, roofing specialists, commercial construction firms, luxury custom home builders, and specialty trades.*

**Ambrose Marketing** helps custom home builders, remodelers, general contractors, and specialty trade firms win the projects they actually want. We build the brand, website, project galleries, Google presence, and follow-up systems that turn a homeowner’s or developer’s first search into a scheduled site walk.

In Florida, contractor marketing carries real legal weight: your license number belongs on ads and proposals, deposits and contracts come with statutory duties, and roof-claim advertising has its own rules. We build those requirements into the work from day one, so your marketing never puts your license at risk.

## What our clients are saying…

## Why Construction Firms Choose Ambrose Marketing in 2026?

Construction is a large, cyclical market. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated total construction spending at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2,203.1 billion in August 2026, with private residential work at $882.3 billion and private nonresidential at $773.0 billion. That same release showed spending for the first eight months of 2026 running 3.1 percent behind the same stretch of 2025.

When the pipeline tightens, the builders who keep a full schedule are usually the ones a client already trusts before the first call. A homeowner planning a kitchen addition, or a business owner planning a new office, wants to see finished projects, a current license, and evidence that the crew shows up and cleans up. Your website, your Google listing, and your reviews carry that proof long before you price a job.

Construction sales cycles are also long. A custom home or a commercial build can take months to go from inquiry to contract, so the marketing has to stay present through design meetings, financing, permitting, and second opinions. Patient, organized follow-up matters as much as the first impression.

Florida adds its own layer. Chapter 489 of the Florida Statutes requires your registration or certification number on every advertisement and bid, sets deadlines once you accept a large deposit, and prohibits certain roof insurance solicitations. We treat these as part of the creative brief, not an afterthought.

We are a woman-owned team based in Naples, Florida, with an office in Manhattan, and we work with builders, remodelers, and trade contractors who want marketing that reflects the quality of their jobsites.

## What the Numbers Say About Building Right Now

Federal construction data and Florida’s own rulebook shape how we plan marketing for builders and contractors. Here is what we are watching.

### Spending is huge but uneven

Census put construction spending at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2,203.1 billion in August 2026, up 0.9 percent from July but 1.7 percent below August 2025 ([U.S. Census Bureau](https://www.census.gov/construction/c30/current/index.html)). A flat-to-soft market rewards firms whose reputation already precedes them.

### Permits point to future work

Privately owned housing starts ran at an annual rate of 1,275,000 in August 2026, with single-family starts at 918,000, and building permits at 1,394,000 ([U.S. Census Bureau](https://www.census.gov/construction/nrc/current/index.html)). Permits signal future work, so builders who are visible now are positioned for the projects in that pipeline.

### Skilled leadership is in demand

The BLS counted 609,100 construction manager jobs in 2025, with a median pay of $114,990, and projects 9 percent growth from 2025 to 2035, about 49,700 openings a year ([BLS](https://www.bls.gov/ooh/management/construction-managers.htm)). Recruiting is now a marketing job too, because good superintendents choose employers carefully.

### Florida’s code keeps evolving

The Florida Building Commission lists December 31, 2023 as the effective date of the Florida Building Code, 8th Edition (2023), and maintains materials for its 2026 update ([Florida Building Commission](https://www.floridabuilding.org/c/default.aspx)). Clients notice when a builder explains code and permitting clearly instead of hiding it in fine print.

## Different Builders, Different Buyers

A luxury home builder and a commercial general contractor sell to very different people. This is how the marketing shifts by type of firm.

- **Custom and luxury home builders**Clients buy trust and taste over a long decision cycle. Editorial photography, a clear design-build process, lot and floor plan resources, and introductions through architects and realtors carry the most weight.
- **Remodelers and renovation firms**Homeowners worry about disruption and budget surprises. Before-and-after galleries, a plain explanation of how you handle dust, schedules, and change orders, and recent reviews from neighbors reduce that anxiety.
- **General contractors**Owners and design professionals want proof you can manage subs, schedules, and inspections. Project sheets with scope, timelines, and the people who ran the job do more than slogans.
- **Commercial and tenant improvement builders**Decisions involve committees, landlords, and procurement rules. A capabilities statement, safety information, bonding and licensing details, and fast responses to bid requests matter most.
- **Roofing, siding, and exterior specialists**Storm seasons create demand and also scrutiny. Florida limits how roof contractors can advertise around insurance claims, so messaging needs care as well as speed.
- **Pool, concrete, and other specialty trades**Work is visual and local. Strong photos, accurate service areas on Google, and relationships with builders who subcontract the trade keep the calendar full.

Doing it right
## Florida and Federal Rules That Shape Contractor Marketing

Contractor advertising in Florida is regulated more closely than many owners realize. These are the rules we check before any ad, proposal template, or yard sign goes out. This is general information, not legal advice.

### Your license number goes on every ad

Florida requires a contractor’s registration or certification number to appear in each offer of services, proposal, bid, contract, or advertisement, regardless of medium ([F.S. 489.119(5)(b)](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0400-0499/0489/Sections/0489.119.html)). Vehicles that bear your company name must also show the number conspicuously under 489.119(5)(c).

### Never advertise work you are not licensed for

Section 489.127(1)(f) prohibits advertising as available to act as a contractor without being duly registered or certified, and an unlicensed violation is a first-degree misdemeanor under 489.127(2)(a) ([F.S. 489.127](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0400-0499/0489/Sections/0489.127.html)). Specialty firms should describe only the scope their license covers.

### Clients can verify you in seconds

Florida’s licensee search lets anyone look up a license by name or number ([Florida DBPR](https://www.myfloridalicense.com/wl11.asp)). Certified contractors carry a code beginning with C and registered contractors one beginning with R ([CILB](https://www.myfloridalicense.com/DBPR/construction-industry/)). We make sure your website matches the record exactly.

### Roof claim advertising has strict limits

Section 489.147 bars soliciting homeowners with roof-damage claim ads that lack required deductible and fraud statements in a large enough font, and bans offering gifts or rebates in exchange for a roof inspection or a claim ([F.S. 489.147](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0400-0499/0489/Sections/0489.147.html)). Storm-season campaigns need review before launch.

### Deposits and contracts carry duties

If you take more than 10 percent of a residential contract price up front, Florida requires you to apply for permits within 30 days and start within 90 days after permits issue ([F.S. 489.126](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0400-0499/0489/Sections/0489.126.html)). Residential contracts over $2,500 need the construction lien notice ([F.S. 713.015](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0700-0799/0713/Sections/0713.015.html)) and the recovery fund statement ([F.S. 489.1425](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0400-0499/0489/Sections/0489.1425.html)). Marketing promises about timelines should line up with these terms.

### Lead-safe certification for older homes

EPA’s RRP rule requires anyone paid to disturb painted surfaces in homes built before 1978 to be certified and their workers trained ([EPA](https://www.epa.gov/lead/renovation-repair-and-painting-program)), and no uncertified firm may offer or claim to perform those renovations under 40 CFR 745.81 ([eCFR](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-40/chapter-I/subchapter-R/part-745/subpart-E)). Remodelers should advertise certification only if they hold it.

### Honest reviews and disclosed partnerships

The FTC prohibits fake reviews and incentives conditioned on positive or negative sentiment ([16 CFR 465.2 and 465.4](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-465)). When a supplier, designer, or creator promotes your work and has a material connection to you, it must be disclosed clearly ([16 CFR 255.5](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-255)).

Questions builders ask
## Construction Marketing Questions, Answered

Does my license number really need to be on every ad?

In Florida, yes. Section 489.119(5)(b) requires your registration or certification number in each offer of services, business proposal, bid, contract, or advertisement, regardless of medium ([Florida Statutes](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0400-0499/0489/Sections/0489.119.html)). That includes websites, social posts, yard signs, mailers, and paid search ads, and a vehicle bearing your company name needs it displayed as well.

What marketing helps a custom home builder most?

Usually a portfolio-first website with professional photography, a clear explanation of how a build unfolds from lot to keys, and steady relationships with architects, designers, and real estate agents. Because decisions take months, email follow-up and periodic project updates keep you in the conversation.

How should remodelers get more leads?

Start with Google. Keep your Business Profile complete, set your service areas by the cities or postal codes you serve, and add photos of recent projects. Google says complete and accurate information and replying to reviews help a profile show up in local results ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7091)).

Can we list a service area instead of an office address on Google?

Yes, if clients do not visit your office. Google treats contractors who travel to customers as service-area businesses, allows up to 20 service areas, and suggests keeping the overall area within about two hours of driving time from your base ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/9157481)).

Can we offer a gift card to clients who leave a review?

Only if it is not tied to what they say. The FTC rule on consumer reviews bans incentives conditioned on a positive or negative review, and it bans fake reviews ([16 CFR Part 465](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-465)). Asking every client for honest feedback, with nothing tied to the rating, is the safe approach.

Are there special rules for roofing ads after a storm?

Yes. Florida Statute 489.147 restricts advertisements that encourage homeowners to contact a contractor about a roof insurance claim unless they carry specific deductible and fraud statements, and it bans offering anything of value for a roof inspection or claim ([F.S. 489.147](https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0400-0499/0489/Sections/0489.147.html)). We review storm campaigns against it before launch.

Should we promote that we are lead-safe certified?

If you renovate homes built before 1978 and hold EPA certification, it is a real differentiator worth explaining. EPA requires firms paid to disturb paint in those homes to be certified ([EPA](https://www.epa.gov/lead/renovation-repair-and-painting-program)). Never claim the certification unless your firm and renovators actually hold it.

How long does construction marketing take to show results?

Fixes to your Google listing and website can affect inquiries within weeks, but signed contracts depend on your sales cycle. For remodels that may be a couple of months, and for custom homes or commercial builds it can be much longer. We report on each stage so you can see progress before the contracts land.

How do we use project photos without overstating anything?

Photograph your own completed work, describe the scope accurately, and ask clients before naming them or showing their address. Avoid implying you performed work that subcontractors under their own licenses did unless you managed it as the contractor. Honest captions protect both your reputation and your license.

Should a commercial contractor bother with social media?

Yes, though the goal differs. Commercial social media is less about viral posts and more about showing project milestones, safety culture, and your team to owners, architects, and future hires. LinkedIn and a well-kept project section on your website often matter more than consumer platforms.

Can marketing help us hire field staff?

It can. The BLS projects about 49,700 openings a year for construction managers alone through 2035 ([BLS](https://www.bls.gov/ooh/management/construction-managers.htm)), so firms compete hard for good people. A careers page with real crew photos, clear pay ranges where you choose to share them, and training paths helps candidates picture working for you.

Do you work with contractors outside Southwest Florida?

Yes. From Naples and Manhattan we can support builders and trade firms in other markets. Licensing and advertising rules differ by state and sometimes by county, so we confirm the local requirements for each market before any campaign goes live.
