# Automotive Marketing Agency: Attract More High-Value Buyers & Grow Your Dealership Nationwide

#### *Marketing for boutique car dealers, luxury & exotic dealerships, independent used-car specialists, high-end pre-owned retailers, EV & performance shops, and collector car galleries.*

**Ambrose Marketing** helps independent and boutique car dealers, used-car lots, repair and detailing shops, and collector car specialists earn trust before a shopper ever walks the lot or pulls into a service bay. We build the brand, website, Google presence, vehicle photography plan, and social content that turn a quick search into a test drive or a booked appointment.

Car buyers and service customers are wary for good reason, so we treat accuracy as the selling point: prices that include the fees the law says they must, payment ads that carry the full disclosures, Buyers Guides that match the listing, and reviews that are real.

## What our clients are saying…

## Why Automotive Dealers Choose Ambrose Marketing in 2026?

Most car shopping now starts on a screen. A shopper compares listings, studies photos, reads reviews of the dealership and the service department, and checks hours and directions, often before calling anyone. The business that answers those questions clearly and honestly is the one that gets the visit.

Service is a large, steady part of the business too. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics counted 825,800 automotive service technician and mechanic jobs in 2025 and reports that automobile dealers employ about a third of them, with independent repair and maintenance shops employing another quarter. Every one of those bays needs customers who trust the people working in it.

Automotive advertising is also one of the most regulated kinds of marketing a small business can do. Federal rules govern how used vehicles are labeled and how financing and lease offers are advertised, and Florida law sets its own standards for dealer price ads and for repair estimates. A clever headline that skips a required disclosure can cost far more than it earns.

Our approach is plain: show the real vehicle, the real price, and the real people behind the business, then make it easy to call, text, book, or visit. That builds the kind of reputation that brings customers back for their next car and their next oil change.

We are a woman-owned team based in Naples, Florida, with an office in Manhattan, and we work with dealers and shops across Southwest Florida and beyond, from neighborhood repair garages to boutique showrooms with a handful of special cars.

How shoppers decide
## What Car Buyers and Service Customers Look For

These figures and rules from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Google, and federal and Florida law shape how we plan marketing for dealers and shops.

### Service bays are a big employer

BLS counted 825,800 automotive service technician and mechanic jobs in 2025, with a median wage of $50,620 a year, and projects employment to grow 5% from 2025 to 2035, with about 66,200 openings each year ([BLS](https://www.bls.gov/ooh/installation-maintenance-and-repair/automotive-service-technicians-and-mechanics.htm)). Dealers employ 32% of these technicians and repair and maintenance shops 25%, so service marketing matters to both.

### Google treats dealerships differently

A dealership can have one Business Profile for the business and more for departments like sales, parts, or service. New-car dealers may add a profile for each brand they sell, but used-car dealers cannot have brand profiles ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/9074301)).

### Inventory can appear on your profile

Google describes a pilot that shows cars for sale directly on dealership Business Profiles, letting shoppers search and filter vehicles from the listing ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/9075680)). Accurate inventory data feeds are becoming part of local visibility.

### Local results reward complete information

Google says local results depend on relevance, distance, and how well known a business is, and that complete, accurate information and replies to reviews help ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7091)). For a dealer, that means correct hours, categories, photos, and steady review activity.

## Different Businesses, Different Buyers

A collector car specialist and a quick-lube shop both sell trust, but they earn it in different ways. Here is how we adjust the plan.

- **Boutique and luxury independent dealers**Buyers expect a gallery experience. Studio-quality photography, detailed provenance and condition notes, an appointment-friendly showroom page, and a brand that feels as considered as the cars on the floor all justify the price.
- **Used-car dealers**Transparency closes deals. Clear photos of every angle, honest condition notes, prices that include required fees, Buyers Guides that match the online listing, and a financing page with complete disclosures keep shoppers from bouncing to the next lot.
- **Auto repair and maintenance shops**Customers want to know you will not upsell them. Plain descriptions of services, technician introductions, written estimates explained up front, and an easy booking path build the confidence that turns a first visit into years of loyalty.
- **Detailing, tint, and paint protection studios**The work is visual, so the marketing should be too. Before and after photos, short videos of the process, clear package descriptions, and a booking calendar keep the schedule full and set honest expectations about results.
- **Collector, classic, and specialty car businesses**Enthusiasts research deeply and travel far. Long-form vehicle stories, event and car show presence, auction and consignment pages, and email updates for new arrivals reach buyers who may live across the country.
- **Body, collision, and glass shops**Most customers arrive after a bad day. A calm, clear website that explains the repair and insurance process, accurate Google information, and prompt communication matter more than flashy ads.

Doing it right
## Rules That Shape Automotive Marketing

Car sales and repair advertising sit under federal trade, lending, and leasing rules plus Florida statutes. These are the ones we keep in front of us for every dealer and shop. This is general information, not legal advice.

### The Buyers Guide on every used vehicle

Under the FTC’s Used Car Rule, a dealer (anyone who sold or offered five or more used vehicles in the previous 12 months) must display a Buyers Guide on each used vehicle offered for sale, readable on both sides. Its terms become part of the sales contract and override contrary provisions, and Spanish-language sales need the Spanish version ([16 CFR Part 455](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-455)). Online listings should never contradict the guide on the car.

### Financing ads and trigger terms

Under Regulation Z, mentioning a down payment, the number of payments or repayment period, a payment amount, or a finance charge in an ad triggers more disclosures: the down payment, the repayment terms, and the annual percentage rate, using that term ([12 CFR 1026.24](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/rules-policy/regulations/1026/24/)). A rate in a credit ad must be stated as an APR.

### Lease ads have their own rules

Under Regulation M, a lease ad that states a payment amount or an amount due at signing must also say it is a lease, the total due at signing, the number, amounts, and timing of payments, whether a security deposit is required, and that an end-of-lease charge may apply. A lease ad may not call its rate an “annual percentage rate” ([12 CFR 1013.7](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/rules-policy/regulations/1013/7/)).

### Florida price ads must include dealer fees

Florida law makes it a deceptive practice for a dealer to advertise a vehicle price unless the vehicle is identified by year, make, model, and a trade or style name, and the price includes every fee the customer must pay, such as freight, destination, and dealer preparation charges. Taxes, tags, registration, and title fees may be left out ([Fla. Stat. 501.976](http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0500-0599/0501/Sections/0501.976.html)).

### Dealer licensing and who may advertise

Florida requires a motor vehicle dealer license, and anyone who buys, sells, or offers three or more vehicles in a 12-month period is presumed to be in the business. Only licensed dealers may advertise vehicles that belong to someone else, and an off-site sale needs a temporary supplemental license, issued for no more than 10 consecutive days ([Fla. Stat. 320.27](http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0300-0399/0320/Sections/0320.27.html)).

### Repair shop registration and estimates

Florida generally requires motor vehicle repair shops, a definition that can include body and glass shops, to register with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services unless an exemption applies ([Fla. Stat. 559.904](http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0500-0599/0559/Sections/0559.904.html)). When a requested repair will exceed $150, the shop must provide a written estimate before starting work ([Fla. Stat. 559.905](http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0500-0599/0559/Sections/0559.905.html)). Service ads should match how estimates actually work.

### Reviews, creators, and the CARS Rule

Paid or gifted creators must disclose that connection clearly ([16 CFR 255.5](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-255)), and the FTC’s review rule bans fake reviews and rewards tied to a positive or negative rating ([16 CFR Part 465](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-465)). The FTC’s separate CARS Rule was vacated by the Fifth Circuit on January 27, 2025, and the FTC formally withdrew it in February 2026 ([Federal Register](https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/02/12/2026-02866/revision-of-the-negative-option-rule-withdrawal-of-the-cars-rule-removal-of-the-non-compete-rule-to)), so it is not in force, but the existing rules above still apply.

Questions owners ask
## Automotive Marketing Questions, Answered

What marketing matters most for a small dealership or repair shop?

An accurate, complete Google Business Profile. Hours, phone, category, photos of the real lot or shop, and replies to reviews are often what a shopper checks first. Google says complete information and engagement with reviews help local visibility ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7091)). A clear website with inventory or service details comes next.

Can we have separate Google profiles for sales and service?

Yes. Google allows a dealership profile plus separate profiles for departments such as sales, service, and parts, each with its own category. New-car dealers may also have a profile per brand they sell, but used-car dealers may not ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/9074301)).

Which hours should our Google profile show?

For a dealership’s main profile, Google says to use car sales hours, and if new and pre-owned sales hours differ, to use the new sales hours ([Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177)). Department profiles for service or parts should carry their own hours.

Do our online listings need to match the Buyers Guide?

They should. The Buyers Guide on the vehicle tells shoppers whether it is sold as is or with a warranty, and its terms become part of the sales contract ([16 CFR Part 455](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-455)). A listing that promises something the guide does not invites complaints and legal risk.

Can we advertise a low monthly payment?

Yes, but a payment amount is a triggering term. For a financed sale, the ad must also state the down payment, the repayment terms, and the APR ([12 CFR 1026.24](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/rules-policy/regulations/1026/24/)). For a lease, it must state the lease disclosures, including the total due at signing ([12 CFR 1013.7](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/rules-policy/regulations/1013/7/)).

What must a Florida dealer’s advertised price include?

All fees the customer has to pay, including freight or destination and dealer preparation charges, with the vehicle identified by year, make, model, and a trade or style name. State and local taxes, tags, registration, and title fees do not have to be included ([Fla. Stat. 501.976](http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0500-0599/0501/Sections/0501.976.html)).

Is the FTC CARS Rule in effect?

No. The Fifth Circuit vacated it on January 27, 2025, and the FTC withdrew it in a rule published February 12, 2026 ([Federal Register](https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/02/12/2026-02866/revision-of-the-negative-option-rule-withdrawal-of-the-cars-rule-removal-of-the-non-compete-rule-to)). Dealers still have to follow the Used Car Rule, Truth in Lending and leasing advertising rules, the FTC Act, and Florida law.

Can we give a discount to customers who leave a five-star review?

No. The FTC’s review rule prohibits offering compensation or incentives conditioned on a review expressing a particular sentiment, and it bans fake reviews ([16 CFR Part 465](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-16/part-465)). You can ask everyone for honest feedback, and you can thank them, as long as the thank-you does not depend on the rating.

How should we photograph vehicles for listings?

Use one consistent set for every vehicle: the same angles, the same background or location, good daylight or even studio light, and close-ups of the interior, odometer, tires, and any wear a buyer should know about. Consistency makes the inventory look cared for, and honest detail shots reduce surprises at the lot.

How do repair and detailing shops get more appointments?

Make it easy to understand what you do and to book it. List services in plain language, introduce your technicians, show real work, keep your Google profile current, and send maintenance reminders to customers who opted in. Repeat customers and referrals usually grow from a good first experience, not from a discount.

How do we know whether marketing is working?

Track calls, form leads, chats, appointments booked, test drives, vehicles sold by lead source, repair orders, and the number and tone of reviews. Google Business Profile performance data shows how people find and act on your listing. We review the numbers with you monthly and change the plan based on what they show.

Do you work with dealers and shops outside Naples?

Yes, we are based in Naples, Florida, with an office in Manhattan, and we work with businesses in several markets. Dealer licensing and advertising rules differ by state, so for clients outside Florida we confirm the local requirements before any campaign launches.
